School

I have one more month of school here at Mizzou. I can't believe my freshman year is here and gone. Crazy. I just can't wait to get home. The only bad thing is my last final is on the 13th of May and I start up my summer history class the 19th...not really a summer break if you ask me. I have that class Monday-Friday 9-12 am. It is only for 3 weeks though, but then I start up another class, Human growth and development June 6th. That class is only 2 days a week from 1-3 and goes for 6 weeks, the rest of my summer. The only good thing is that I will have 34 credit hours at the end and I will only have 7 or 8 more classes I need to take until I start nursing school!!!! Oh man I can't wait. Hope everyone else enjoys this last month of school :)

Dosage Test

I just took my dosage test this morning. It is a little test that I have to take to get into nursing school. You have to get a 90 percent to pass. This was my second time taking it. The first time I got an 80 percent so hopefully this time I did better. I actually think I got a hundred but we will see, just got to keep my head up :)

Sarka

Today I got to hang out with one of my best friends Sarka. She goes to MSU so I never get to see her. She got a little Chiwawa. His name is Hendrix. He weighs 2 pounds. I love hanging out with Sarka she always have something to do and always brings a little excitement to my life. I became friends with her about 2 years ago and for a long time we were always with each other, and then well we both got boyfriends and went away to school. I am going to visit her in 3 weeks and I can't wait.

This is Hendrix, isn't he just the cutest little guy.

I can't wait to see her again :)

Flying.

Last night was my first time flying alone.I was going from Green Bay to Chicago to St. Louis. Anthony dropped me off at the Green Bay airport, which was about the same size, if not smaller, than West County Mall. Everything went smoothly there, well kinda I started off by giving the wrong ticket to the guy, but after that it went smoothly. I went on a tiny little air plane. There was only 9 people on the plane! This is when everything just gets all turned around. I arrived at a different gate and found out I had to go to a different gate to go to St. Louis. I don't know if you have ever been to OHare Airport but it is huge!!! So I was a little nervous being all by myself. I found a sign that told me where I needed to be, but my plane was delayed. I got to Chicago at 7:30 and my place wasn't leaving until 10:10! So I just sat down and at some food and finished up my Gossip Girl book. The reason why it was delayed was because the pilot was delayed in Miami. When we got on the plane someone pulled the power cable so, we had to wait like another 15 minutes so they could figure everything out. I just said a little pray telling God to just get me home safely. I got to St. Louis in one piece at 11:40. I followed the people until I saw the familiar faces of my mom, dad, and sister! It was so good to be home and with my family.

I don't know if I will be flying by myself again, I just run into bad luck when I do.

Wisconsin.

First let me say this. I enjoyed being with Anthony for a good week and a half.

I had a good time while I was up there. It was so good to finally meet him friends. I was so surprised by the size of his room, it was about half the size of mine and well my room is small to me. Of course to my luck it rained everyday I was up there, and I called Anthony today and well there is not a cloud in the sky. Crazy, I just think that's a sign De Pere just doesn't like me. Anyway, there really wasn't that much to do because Anthony was so busy with school he really didn't have time. I am so proud of him for keeping up with his school even when I was there. We did get a chance to go for a little walk yesterday to the bookstore. St. Norberts College is a lot different then Mizzou. All the buildings are spaced out so there is a lot of room, and Mizzou it is just building after building. I know I could of had a better time up there if I wasn't so homesick. I think it was the weather too. I just needed to see my family. I feel bad for Anthony because he had to put up with me. I wasn't going to come home till Friday, but I had to cut it short because I forgot my stuff to study for my dosage test on Saturday and I need to get a 90 to pass so I really needed that and also because Anthony had 3 test to study for and I know he needed to do well so I knew it was my time to go. Hopefully Anthony isn't mad and understands that he wasn't the reason I left. Hopefully next time I visit it will go a little better.

I did get 2 pictures of his room to show my mom just how small it was, I was just shocked.

Chicago trip dos

Saturday Anthony and I stopped in Chicago on our trip up to St. Norberts College. We got there around 2:30 and it was absolutely beautiful when we got there. The sun was shinning and there was a slight breeze. Since it was so nice Anthony, Angela (Anthony's little sister), Frank (Anthony's older brother), Brittany(Frank's girlfriend), and I walked around all of Chicago. We pretty much looked at everything you could in one day, in a couple hours. Chicago is such a pretty town. When we got done walking around we got some Chinese food from Yen's. I was so hungry from all the walking, so I ate a ton of food :) Sunday the whole group plus Mrs. C and Amy (Anthony's older sister) went to Ikea. This place was unbelievable. It had anything and everything a person needed. I will admit I don't think that place is for me because well everything is everywhere. I need things in order or I freak out. Plus there was just a large amount of people and it was hard to move around. I did like the items that were there, so I think I will stick to shopping online from that place for now. We all went our separate ways after Ikea, Mrs. C, Angela, Anthony and I went to Fridays to catch a late lunch before we headed off. It was a crazy, but enjoyable two days.
This was on the Megabus up to Chicago :)

These are some pictures from walking around.

John Mineo's

Friday Anthony and I went to John Mineo's and used the gift certificate that his grandma gave us. It was fun to get all dressed up and actually go to a nice restaurant.

Anthony and I took advantage of the gift certificate and got 2 appetizers, a salad, 2 pastas, and dessert. For the appetizer we got steamed mussels in a tomato/red wine sauce and little cheese ravioli with red sauce. They were really yummy, I am still not sure if Anthony liked the mussels though. He said he did, but I know Anthony and well I think he was saying it just to be nice. We then shared their house salad which was a Italian dressing. Then the PASTA, both Anthony's and I favorite food. He got a penne pasta with Salmon, and I got a bow tie pasta with lobster and veggies. The pasta was unbelievable. We then finished it off with a piece of tiramisu :) It was a really nice night, even though we were the only people under 70 years old in the place Ha, but it was something to experience. We went back to his house after to play a little Wii Fit and work off all those calories. Over all it was an A+ night.

Start of a Break

This week has been an awesome week so far. Monday I only had one class. My math class got cancelled so I took that to my advantage and did some studying for my math test which was later that night. Tuesday I only have one class and well it got cancelled as well. It was so beautiful out and I had the whole day free!!! I got all my stuff done early because Anthony and my sister were coming down around 7. That night Anthony, Kristin, Jami, Amanda, Ryan and I walked downtown and went to Flat Branch. We sat outside since it was so nice out. It was nice to get away and actually enjoy a meal. Today I only had 2 classes because my english class was cancelled! So I was done by 10 :) We went to eat at Dobb's, our schools caff, and well it sucked like usual. My sister headed back home today and Anthony stayed at Mizzou with me. We went to Rock Quarry Park and walked around before the rain came our way. After the park Anthony and I headed over to our friend Natalie's room to catch up with everyone. I think Anthony was a little overwhelmed with things to do. He told me that all he does at school is sit in him room and watch some TV. Usually that is all I do but I figured since I have a guest I should show them around a bit. Tomorrow we will head back to the Loui and offically start spring break!

Noodles and Company

For anyone out there who doesn't know what Noodles and Company is, I say you need to go there. A way to describe the place is fast yet delicious eating. Noodles has become my obsession ever since I got down to school. We have there coupon books that have a buy one pasta get one free at Noodles, so I have been taking advantage of it. There are 2 sizes for pastas, a small and a regular. I usually get a regular and so does Amanda. A regular pasta cost around 6 dollars. So with the coupon Amanda and I each pay 3 dollars :) It is a great deal for some really good pasta. I usually get the mac n' cheese and she gets the pesto. We usually share our pastas so we can have a little of each.
There are 3 different "menus". There is the Asian, Mediterranean, and American. Each one has 4 different pastas, a soup, and a salad. My goal is to try all of the pastas, but I just get hooked on a certain one and order that every time. The atmosphere is great too. Over all I highly recommend this place. It sure beats fast food.

Time is flying.

So it has been a couple days since I have blogged. I have had so much going on and I feel like I couldn't sum it up into a small and not boring blog.

Where to start? Hmmm...

Friday.

I went home because Anthony was coming in town for his spring break!!! I had a hair appointment at 2, which I was very excited about because my roots were looking rough. After that my mom and I had dinner. My dad worked late that night and my sister went to Mizzou for the high school girls state basketball game. My mom and I enjoyed some fish and rice :) That night Casey, Alyson, and Joe came over. We caught up for a little bit, and then everyone headed off because I had to get up at 5 to go get Anthony from the bus station. I decided to watch The Devil Wears Prada before I went to bed, awesome movie, makes me want to actually attempt to dress cute. While I was watching the movie Anthony texted me telling me that his bus was delayed an hour, I am not going to lie I was actually happy because I could get a little more sleep. I woke up with a text at 5 from Anthony saying he was 15 miles away!!!

Saturday.

I hurried up and got ready to go pick up Anthony. It was about 10 after 5 when I got on the road. It was still dark outside and there were around 5 cars on the road. Anthony and I headed back to his house and took a long nap! Once we got up we headed to his grandma's house to visit and pick up her car so Mrs. C could take it up to Chicago. While we were at his grandma's house we watched the Blues game. I felt like all I did this weekend was watch hockey. That usually happens when I am with Anthony though, thank goodness I like hockey. Anthony's grandma gave us a gift certificate to John Mineos, a super fancy restaurant. It expires on the 1st of April and she is going on a cruse so she gave it to Anthony and I to enjoy! We have reservations at 7 on Friday. I told Anthony it can be a celebration for a 1 and a half year Ha. After our visit we headed to the grocery store to pick up some stuff for my awesome pasta salad.
Greek Tuna Salad Pasta
1 pound penne rigate pasta3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil
2 plum tomatoes, chopped
1/2 cucumber, seeded and coarsely chopped
1/4 red onion, finely chopped
1/4 cup pitted kalamata olives, chopped
1/4 cup finely chopped parsleysalt and pepper
6-oz white tuna solid
1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
Pour vinegar into large bowl whisk in the olive oil in a slow steady stream. Stir in the tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, and olives. Add the pasta and parsley and toss; season with salt and pepper. Stir in tuna. Top with feta

That night my mom made a St. Patty's Day dinner. My Grandpa, My Aunt Judy and Uncle Tim came over, and brought my Cousin Jenna and Cloe, their dog. We had corned beef with cabbage, carrots, potatoes and my pasta salad. For desert we had strawberry shortcakes! It was so nice to have all of the family together. After dinner Anthony and I watched Madagascar 2 :) both of us were dying to see it.

Sunday.

Anthony and I slept in, making sure to be fully rested for our crazy day. I have been wanting to take Anthony to Noodles and Company. It is one of my favorite little places to eat. I will blog about that later. Anthony hadn't been feeling that well, but I think he still enjoyed it, because well it is a pasta place. We headed back to my house to grab Coco and head to the park :) We went on a long walk trough the trails, stopping every now and then to get some pictures. It was so nice outside. After the park we went to Anthony's to introduce Coco to Ginger. It is so weird how dogs get to know each other. We then took them both on a walk around the block. I headed back home, and Anthony met me there. We watched Role Models once we got back, and before I knew it, it was time for me to head off to school.

Man did the weekend fly by!!! Anthony and my sister are coming to Columbia tomorrow and I can't wait. I get to show Anthony what a day in my shoes is like, and spend some time with my sister and do a little shopping, her favorite.

Pictures from the park.

Headaches

Today has been a painful day. I get headaches a lot. I have tried every over the counter medicine and it works at first but after awhile it stops working. I can usually just take a long nap and that helps, but for some reason sleep just didn't help today. I hate getting them because well they hurt and make me feel sick but also make me get really crabby. I hate taking it out on other people but when my head hurts all I want to do is just lay in a hot bath in a dark room and not talk and listen to some soothing music. If anyone has any home remedies please help me out!!!

Wonderful Friday.

Today was a wonderful day. It was a very eventful day. My day first started off with class. I only have two classes on Friday, 8am and 10am. I love that I have an hour break in between classes because I can get homework done, or just a little reading done. In my first class Bioethics, a group was presenting and with two minutes left in class one of the girls presenting passed out and hit her head on the floor. It was so scary, we had to call 911 because she busted open her eye. Good thing everyone in that class is a medical student! In my second class English. For some reason the class next to mine is always very loud. You can always here the teacher yelling through the walls today he was yelling a Chris Farley act from Saturday Night Live, In a Van Down by the River. It was really entertaining. After class I went to the gym :) It felt good to run for once. I really need to start running more it makes me a lot happier with myself. After that Amanda, Jami and I headed to the park again. We went to Stephen's Lake Park, which has a lake and a trail along it. It's a really nice park, and the lake has a beach and you can swim there in the summer. Then we headed downtown and walked around and stopped in Kaldi's and got an Italian Soda. I got raspberry and cream :) We then went to the park we went to yesterday because there was another part of the park we didn't see. We headed back to the dorm, Jami and Amanda took a nap, while I cleaned up. We all got ready and went to a Mizzou vs. Lindenwood lacrosse game. My best friend Dan plays for Lindenwood, so I was really excited to go watch him play. His mom and dad also drove down. It was so nice to see them and catch up with them. I just love the Ashlocks. They are like my other family. His mom is a nurse and went to Meremac, so I love talking to her about school because she always has the best advice. Lindenwood killed Mizzou 20 something to 9. It was still a lot of fun to watch though. After the game Amanda and I stayed in and watched Cruel Intentions, which is an amazing movie. Over all it was an awesome day filled with awesome people!!!

More pictures. I try to put up lots of pictures, because I am learning how to work my camera and my angles. Plus I just love looking at pictures.
