Al-Y-Son

Alyson and I have known each other for about 13 years now. We didn't always get along, but for some reason we became best friends about 5 years ago. I would spend every day at her house, doing anything and everything. I was always more outgoing than her so we made a perfect couple. I would show her how to relax and let go and have a little fun, while she taught me to grow up and be a little more responsible. We have been through think and thin with each other, but in the end I know she would be there for me in a heart beat. Alyson was a big part of me becoming my own person, and influenced me in many ways. I am looking forward to coming back home and being able to grow more with her, even though she is traveling abroad in Spain next semester!!!

Alyson thank you for being you and for being an amazing friend.

I love you.

A Good Day

What a great Tuesday. I got a good sleep last night and woke up with plenty of energy! The sun wasn't out, but it was around 60 degrees, so it was nice because I wasn't sweating when I walked somewhere. I didn't have class today so I had plenty of time to get things done. I started my day with working on my final English paper. I didn't get as much done as I wanted, but I still started it, which is a plus. After that I had an ok lunch, but I wasn't that hungry so it was perfect. I then came home to watch a little food network before Amanda and I took Tiger Pump at the gym. We had another great workout, this one was a little harder for some reason. Then we walked all around Greek town like 3 times because they were doing events for homecoming, I don't understand all the technical terms but it looked like fun. Amanda and I then headed back to shower and clean up and met up with our friends Jon and Patrick to go get something to eat. We went to Campus Bar and Grill, or Big 12. Greek's(Fraternities and Sororities) don't like it went us GDI's (god damn independents) call it Campus Bar and Grill. All of us headed to Cold Stone for some ice cream because on Tuesday's if you are a student you buy one you get one free!!!! So Patrick being the gentleman he is paid for my ice cream :) Now I am back in my dorm relaxing and excited about what tomorrow will bring! It is days like these that I am going to miss at Mizzou.

Allergies

It is now officially allergy season and well I am dying. Over the summer I went to an allergist to actually see if I had any food allergies and found out that I am allergic to everything outside. I mean every freaking tree and grass out there! So all those trees that are turning green are not my friend right now. I can't be outside for more than 5 minutes. I have a prescription but I am still really bad, I should actually probably get shots, but they cost a lot. So for the time being I have to suck it up and stay inside as much as possible, and take my medicine plus over the counter medicine plus eye drops plus nose spray :) Sounds wonderful right? All I am praying for now is a big rain to wash all the green dust away!

Tiger Pump

Today Amanda and I decided to go outside the box and take a class at the gym. It was called Tiger Pump. It was a strengthen and toning class. The first thing the instructor said to us when we walked in was everyone grab a ball, 2 sets of weights and a weight bar. Amanda and I looked at each other and were like what did we get ourselves into. It was an hour class and let me tell you at the end of the hour every inch of my body was burning, but a good burn. My arms felt like spaghetti and my legs felt like jello. It was such a good class Amanda and I are going on Tuesday and Thursday next week! The time flew by and I actually feel like I got a great workout in. The only down fall is that the class cost 7 dollars but I think I got my 7 dollars worth, I will let you know tomorrow :)

cleaning up

With only 3 weeks left of school, it is time for me to start packing up and bring some stuff home. I keep thinking that if i pack up my stuff faster summer would come a little quicker, but I don't think it is working. The only thing I am enjoying about this is cleaning up the clutter. You never realize how much stuff you can really live without until you clean up and see things that you haven't used in a long time. I try to go through things every couple of months to get rid of some stuff that I know I haven't used and put it all down in the basement for my mom's spring garage sale, but some times it is hard to get rid of things. I feel like I might need it later, but like people say "if you haven't used it in 12 months get rid of it". So now that is the rule I follow and it helps keep things clean.

Rainy Days

Some times I hate the rain, but some times I love it. It rained both Saturday and Sunday. Today was a lot worse than yesterday. Today I hated the rain because Jami and I went to our friend Scott Baker's Lacrosse game. He goes to Missouri State University, so it was nice to see him, but it poured the whole game. Thank goodness for my dad's huge golf umbrella! We stayed the whole game like troopers. It really ruined the game though. I could have enjoyed the game a little more if my pants weren't dripping wet or if my feet weren't frozen, I was the smart one and wore sandals. The reason why I loved the rain today is because some days it is just nice to cuddle up in my bed in some comfy clothes and watch a good movie or two. It was nice to relax and have nothing to do. I also love the rain because the sound is so peaceful, but it made me sleep a little more than I needed too today! Back to school tomorrow though and the sun is hopefully going to be shinning.

TOMS shoes

Today I discovered TOMS shoes. The website is http://www.tomsshoes.com/. This is obviously about shoes, but these are no ordinary shoes. First for every pair of shoes you buy, this organization gives a pair of shoes to a third world country. Second the shoes are all natural/vegan, meaning they are made of things found in nature. The shoes are all the same style but just different prints. They are fun and seem like a good summer shoe. Check them out :)

Working Out

I have finally done it. I am now enjoying working out. Now I just go to the gym without thinking about it twice. I think it is because the weather has been nice, so it motivates me to actually get moving. I am starting off slow and going at least 3 times a week. I want to start working out almost every day once it's summer because I need to be in awesome shape for soccer. I am just really proud of myself for actually enjoying going to the gym, well I mean I don't enjoy it while I am there but once I am done I feel great! Hopefully I can keep this up and do something that is for the better of my body. I just keep telling myself I am not trying to lose weight, I am trying to get in shape.

I PASSED MY DOSAGE TEST WITH A 100 PERCENT!!!!!!

Black and White Wedding

My cousin Matt got married on Saturday. He was the first one in the family to get married, so it was exciting. The ceremony was great. It had traditional things, but made it have their personalities. The music was very nontraditional, but it was amazing. Jami looked absolutely beautiful. I promised myself that I wouldn't cry, but I teared up....only happy tears of course! The reception was so much fun. It was at the Mulin. Everything looked so simple and elegant. The theme was black and white. Even their wedding rings were like that. My cousin had a black band and Jami had black diamonds in her band. It was so unique. Everyone was up dancing. I was very happy to see Anthony up and moving! I should have gotten a picture...its not that often that Anthony is outgoing like that. My grandpa also surprised me, he out danced us all. He was twisting and moving all over the place! I am so thankful to have a family that can have a good time.

LNV

The Group

Friday I went to a show at The Old Rock House for Last Nights Vice. They are a STL local band, some of the members are from Lindbergh. My friend Eleni's sister's boyfriend, Brandon, is the lead singer of the band. The show was really awesome. I have seen them a couple of times and it seems like they get better every show. I went with a group of people, mostly my grade school friends. I am a HUGE concert person and I go crazy at the shows. I was jumping and bouncing all over the place, and well I was covered in sweat....I know gross but I was having so much fun I didn't even care.

Oh and I was wearing heels while doing this....my feet hated me by the end of the night.

always going.

This past weekend was probably one of my craziest weekends ever. I wasn't going to come home this weekend but I ended up coming home because there was so much going on.

Friday I didn't get home till 11pm because I stuck around Mizzou and got somethings done like work out and pack up somethings to take home for good. Later that night my good friend Natalie and I went to the LHS girls soccer game at Rockbridge High School. It was so weird watching them play, both Natalie and I were on that team.

Saturday was non stop events for me. I woke up went to lunch at Pasta House to say hello to my old manager, then went to my friend Eleni's house to tie-dye with her and my other friend Gina. It was so fun and it was beautiful outside. My shirts turned out awesome, Gina and Eleni's on the other hand well they were good but they didn't get dye on the whole shirt so there was a lot of white going on. It was still a good time though. After we hung out there Gina, my friend Jami and I headed to a breast cancer fundraiser. My friend Amanda's boyfriend's mom (yes I know its a lot to explain) was holding the event. It was really nice and we all had a good time and made our contribution. We all bought raffle tickets to but in a bag to win a basket. We all won!!! We were so excited because non of us ever win anything. After the event I rushed home and headed out to SIUE to watch the new pro St. Louis girls soccer team, Athletica with my friend Casey. It was awesome and got me so excited to play this August! Casey and I sat right on the sideline. After the game a few friends came back over to my house to relax and just catch up.

Sunday was the best! It was my friend Scott's birthday and a group of us went paint balling. I woke up and headed right to Eleni's house to meet everyone. We played from 12-3. Today I can not walk. I seriously didn't think I would be this sore, but apparently paint balling is a crazy workout. I can not explain to you how much fun that sport is. I am planning on getting another group together May once everyone is home. It was only 35 a person. You go for 3 hours and get 500 balls a person, and all the equipment. I can't wait to go back and do it again. This time I think I will be a little better than I was. It is hard to get use to it.

The only problem with this weekend was that I didn't take any pictures!!!! Well I got 3. Next time I will try to be better.

LHS Soccer

OH and I completely forgot. The Lindbergh girls soccer team is coming to Columbia tomorrow to play and I can't wait to go and watch both the JV and Varsity teams! Good Luck Angela!!!! Like I said take a girl out for me. See you tomorrow :)

Papers.

I HATE writing papers. I had to write an English paper this week. One English is not my subject, I am not horrible at it, it just takes me some time to understand it and two it was my first week back from spring break and the last thing I wanted to do was write a paper. Also the topic of my paper was hard to grasp and I had to do a lot more research than I thought. I got it all done today. It is 3 and a half pages done and that is only my rough draft. I was really proud of myself because I took advantage of one of the resources here at Mizzou. We have a writing lab in which you meet with an English major student. The girl I met with was so helpful. I had no idea how I was going to put my paper together and she helped me come up with an outline and a thesis statement. I will be taking advantage of that more often. The final draft isn't due till Wednesday so I will be heading back to the writing lab on Monday so they can help me finalize it. All I have to say is thank goodness it is written!
